ABOUT PAQUITA LA DEL BARRIO

Grammy nominated Mexican singer, songwriter, and actress, Paquita la del Barrio became popular thanks to her aggressive style of songwriting that targets men and their macho-ness. Her best-known song is "Rata de dos patas" (meaning ‘two-legged rat’), in which she compares an ex-lover to a variety of vermin and other untrustworthy animals. Many of Paquita's albums and songs are jukebox staples in Mexican clubs and cantinas. Even when her first records didn't achieve a top-selling status, Paquita la del Barrio became one of the most interesting local personalities. She was honored with the lifetime achievement prize at the Premio lo Nuestro awards in 2016.
